I recently learned of a new company backed by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI – the creators of ChatGPT. This company is called world. It is increasingly becoming difficult to tell if we are interacting with a human or an AI bot. World is attempting to answer that question by scanning your eyes. Yep, your eyes. The scan will create digital code that will be registered so you can be identified as a human. The company also created its own crypto currency WRL. They have been going to other countries and scanning irises giving the coin as an inventive. I think a person could either keep the coins or trade them in for about $100.
Some governments did not like this and made the company leave. As of this post, about a week ago the company started scanning eyes in the US. Right now the service is free, but eventually it may have a subscription costs.
Of course there is always the question of data security and privacy. The company states once they scan your eyes and create the digital code, everything is deleted.
